Happy Birthday Andrew

Three years ago.

We were feeding him through a syringe.

We had 2 hour shifts scheduled to sleep by him on the floor while he was tethered to the wall with a bilirubin blanket.

Somehow,

we didn’t break him.

Instead.

He brought us more joy that we could have ever hoped for.

And now.

We get to teach him all sorts of cool things.

Someday we hope that he’ll forgive us.

For this.

Maybe if he didn’t ask for a blue rocket ship cake,

Or if I was getting more than 3 hours of sleep at night,

Or if Pete hadn’t sent me to bed so that he could finish it by himself…it could have been better.

He didn’t seem to mind though.

He happily enjoyed his gifts.

While his Dad stumbled upon his old trumpet and played Taps.

Happy Birthday, Andrew.

You are our best.

Goodbye 2010

Andrew and I had lots of free time this week, so we headed to the Children’s Museum to check out the Exploradome.  I was a little nervous about how he’d react to laying in a dark dome for 30 minutes, but when our turn was up he did great and has been taking about astronauts living in the space station for days!

Unfortunately a little nap on the way home prevented him from taking a real nap, so he had quiet time to read books instead.  After about 10 minutes he shouted, “Everyone, everyone!  Come see my A!”.

Yesterday my Christmas present arrived.

Freshly cleaned carpeting…and as Pete likes to point out…just in time for another baby to spit up all over!

See you next year!

Moving on

The Christmas holiday came and went much to quickly this year.  Some of us were very upset about that.

We’re not dwelling on it though and moving to the next thing.

Now that the holiday decorations have come down, we’re in full on nesting mode!

Parachute at Preschool

How is it almost November?

October has flown by for us! Pete had a two week trip for work, so Andrew and I spent some time in Cottonwood.

We helped my Mom and sister pick 100 pumpkins!

Andrew chased Sadie around.

And vice versa.

We were sent back with a container of field corn for Andrew to play with.  He spent a long time combining the floor.

A few days after Pete returned and it was MEA weekend.  Pete had submitted a video to a contest and won a trip to Calgary!  Andrew went to spend a few days with Grandpa and Grandma Schneider and Pete and I were able to spend some time together.  Although, after the riding the tram at the airport at MSP, we both were wishing that would would have brought Andrew with.  I think we said it about 30 times that first day…then we realized how much more we could explore on our own!

The second day we were up early and drove to Lake Louise and Banff.  It was much colder than what we expected, but the views made up for it.

Andrew wanted to go trick-or-treating after his nap today, so we held him off by having him cut out pictures of toys that he likes.

Pete and him headed out just a bit ago, while I hold down the fort and eat pass out candy.

Happy Halloween!

Keeping busy

Pete and Andrew have made it to a couple of St. Michael-Albertville football games this year.  Andrew’s favorite part is bringing along hot chocolate and drinking it after the first touchdown.

Our daycare was closed a couple of weeks ago, so Andrew and Pete made it to a few garage sales.  They scored this set of kid golf clubs.

I see broken windows in our future.

Andrew has had two sessions if Preschool through ECFE.  He loves all the toys, circle time, snack time, and Ms. Emily.

This week we were able to visit the newest member of the Schneider family.  Baby William was born on Thursday.  William was very good about putting up with Andrew’s constant need to hold him, touch him, and attempts to wash his hair with hand sanitizer.

Spending time with William was good practice for Andrew though…

He’ll have lots more practice come February!
