Thanksgiving and meeting Santa

Thanksgiving was spent in Cottonwood this year.  We had a great time visiting with Devereaux’s and DeSleer’s.  We didn’t get many pictures but Uncle Steven made sure we took pictures of this:

Steven was up early every morning to set or check his traps.  He wanted to make sure that Andrew saw the three beavers.

We’ll remember this someday when Steven has his own kids.  “Come pet the dead beaver”.

The Sunday after we put our tree up!  Thank goodness for fake, pre-lit trees!  Andrew was more interested in the box.  He’s doing pretty well with the tree so far.  He’ll crawl close to it and then look to see if anyone is watching, we say “No”, and he smiles and crawls away.

In addition to teaching him what no means, I have also taught him to raise his hand when he has something to share.  Maybe he could come in and show my class how this works?

After the tree was up and Andrew was freshly bathed, we decided to try to capture the perfect picture for our Christmas cards.  It didn’t work, he drooled on his shirt and wouldn’t smile!

So we gave up and decided to take his 11 month picture instead.

Yesterday we went to the St. Michael fire station to meet Santa.  While in line, we noticed some other Schneider’s doing the same thing!

The line was long so Andrew worked on his standing skills while we waited.

Uncle Bill and Allison came over for a visit!

Getting closer to Santa!

Santa seemed to be doing a great job with the kids.  He would sit and talk to each one for awhile.

When it was Andrew’s turn, Santa got kind of anxious and didn’t really know what to do with him.

He was holding him kind of funny and it was only a matter of time before Andrew would start to whine.

This picture sums up Andrew’s first meeting with Santa.  Both giving each other strange looks.

We came home and noticed our neighbor out clearing off an area to ice skate on the pond.

Then this morning, Andrew watched the ice skating area get covered by snow again!

He watched the snow come down for about 15 minutes!

Our Little Butterball

Lately we’ve noticed that Andrew has increased the amount of solid food that he’s eating.  He no longer wants the “baby” food that we offer him.  Instead he prefers to feed himself and he’s quite picky about what he eats.  He will avoid any fruit or vegetable that is on his plate and will groan until he gets some type of meat put on his tray.  Only after all of the meat is eaten, will he attempt anything else.

He thinks it’s pretty funny.  Notice his jack-o-lantern/fang-like teeth.  All Andy wants for Christmas is his two front teeth…then he could withhh you a merry chrithhhmathhh.

“I vant to drink the vater…ha ha ha”.

This is what happens when Mom turns her back for a second.

With the Thanksgiving celebrations almost upon us, we’d like to share some of the things that we, here at Team Schneider.blogspot.com, are most thankful for:
* quiet nights at home
* getting to spend the holidays with family
* good health
* footie pajamas
* only 1 more month of bottles and formula
Happy Thanksgiving!

Harry Potter and the Mysterious Ticking Noise

Andrew’s favorite YouTube video is the Harry Potter Puppets and the Mysterious Ticking Noise (as seen below), so he decided to make his own version (even further below). I think that he gives Daniel Radcliffe a run for his money…

New Pictures: Leaves, The Circus, An Escalator, A Parking Ramp and A Monkey?

Andrew loves going for walks.

Some kind person raked this pile of leaves near the river for Andrew to sit in.

This is what happens when Mom and Andrew are home for MEA break.

Andrew has learned how to pull himself up on the side of his crib.

This makes laying down and going to sleep an exhausting process.

Last Saturday, Pete scored 4 box seats to the Shrine Circus at the Target center.

The excitement of his first (and only?) circus.

Life is so much easier when you can just ride down the stairs.

After the circus, we had a couple of hours to waste and then a wedding to attend in St. Paul.  We spent a little time in the Mall of America and then Andrew got to experience getting ready for his first wedding in the parking ramp.  And, yes, we all changed our clothes in the parking ramp.

That’s just how we roll.

The next day, Mom had some homework to do, but was distracted by the shouts of successful fishermen.

“Um, Mom, could you leave?  You’re embarrassing me.”

We’ll be in SW MN for Halloween so we decided to get an early start on the pumpkin carving.

Check out the graham cracker smeared all over his face!

Pete was really getting into this and worked on his for about an hour.

My pumpkin resembles Andrew, except for the triangle eyes.

Enjoying the final product.

Pete’s hard work paid off.  Two wolves howling at the moon.

Yesterday we joined the Kresha’s for Zoo Boo in Little Falls.

Aliza decided that Evil Taco wasn’t so bad after all.

Somehow these two got bags of candy, as well.

Posing for a picture with a pumpkin.

Amelia and Adrienne take a break from candy collecting to pose with their cousin.

And He’s Off!

Andrew started crawling about 2 weeks ago and we have struggled to keep up ever since…

Hello, Autumn.

We’ve been enjoying as much of the fall weather as we can.

Here are a couple of pictures from the trail by our house.

Andrew has started crawling and is loving his new found freedom.

He just realized that now he can follow us from room to room.

Today we went to an apple orchard with the Gundry’s.

The rain held off long enough for us to get a few pics of the boys.
